Swap - Holiday decor (Hennepin County)

Join us for a free community Swap-It event focused on building materials! Bring gently used items you no longer need and take home something new-to-you, all at no cost! It’s a fun and sustainable way to reduce waste, share resources, and connect with others in your community.

You don’t have to bring anything to participate — everyone is welcome!

Holiday decor

Saturday, September 26 from noon to 2 p.m. | Eden Prairie Community Center gymnasium

  • Early drop off begins at 10 a.m. (no swapping) | Eden Prairie Community Center Cambria room
  • Final items accepted at 1:30 p.m.

Accepted items

  • Candles (new or mostly unused) 
  • Candle holders (not heavily waxed), including menorahs and kinaras 
  • Centerpiece making supplies including fake flowers and fruit, floral picks, fillers
  • Christmas trees (tabletop and up to 5 feet tall) 
  • Garland and bunting
  • Flags
  • Gift wrap, bags, ribbon, bows 
  • Hanging decor including wreaths
  • Ornaments 
  • Seasonal linens including tablecloths, runners, placemats, napkins, towels, oven mitts 
  • Seasonal tableware including plates, mugs, serving dishes
  • Stockings, Easter baskets, trick-or-treat buckets
  • String lights (working) 
  • Tabletop decor

Not accepted

  • Broken, ripped, stained, or moldy items  
  • Large items that cannot be carried by one person
  • Clothing including costumes 
  • Inflatables
  • Non-holiday decor

What to expect

  • No registration required.
  • Anyone can participate, kids are welcome!
  • You do not need to bring items to take items; everything is free.
  • Drop off items at the welcome table where volunteers will check, weigh, and sort your items. Final items accepted 30 minutes before the end of the event. 
  • Staff and volunteers are unable to help with unloading or loading items into attendee vehicles.
  • Be kind. Take what you can use, leave items for other swappers.
  • Some items brought into the swap may be held and set out later, so that there are items available throughout the event.
  • Leftover items will be donated.
